So being the owner of 2 dead batteries in the deuce, I was talking to a friend about the cost of replacements. He told me that his lawn mower has a 9 year old battery in it. Those things usually only last a couple of years, so I asked what was up. A friend of his told him to put a tablespoon of epsom salt in each cell of a car size battery, then put it on a charger and put the amps to it, really warm it up. Apparently it helps break the sulfides loose from the plates and start working better again.
Unfortunately for me, or perhaps not, I already bought a pair of group 31A batteries at 950 CCA to put in the truck, leaving space for a group 27 for those 12v accessories laying around the shop. Now to mount a 1 wire GM alternator...

Sherry, Lindsay and I went to the Glass Museum a few weeks ago, and afterwards had lunch at Subway where someone had left a local paper. On the front page was a story about a museum for the Buffalo Soldiers. The museum was the dream of William Jones who served in WWII and Korea, who requested his family pursue it before he passed in 2009. The museum was started my his daughter Jackie Jones-Hook and is one of only two museums dedicated to the Buffalo Soldiers.
